Born in Taiwan in 1991, Taiwanese pianist Chia-Lun HSU has been described as “the most talented young Pianist in Taiwan“. Chia-Lun’s piano playing is widely appreciated for the absolute purity of his interpretations. He is regarded as an amazing artist, possessed of a natural beautiful, and flawless technique that gave his concerts a unique truly quality. He has a wide and varied discography, and particularly noted for his interpretations of Chopin. He also made great and successful recordings of Schumann, Liszt, and Debussy. His recording of Chopin’s 24 Preludés has been a favorite of many classical music-lovers. Chia-Lun won the 2nd Prize at the Zhu Qian Cup Music Competition in 1996 and 1997, when he was 5 years old. Two years later, he won the 3th prize at the Kawai International Piano Competition. In 2005, he won the 2nd prize at the Young Musicians International Competition Citta di Barletta in Taiwan Audition. Before he entered the Berlin Universityof the Artsin Germany, he won the 1st Prize at one of the most important Competition in Taiwan in 2006, Hsing Tien Kong Music Competition. Chia-Lun has toured as pianist throughout the Europe and Asia.
He’s been officially enrolled at Universität der Künste Berlin (The Berlin University of the Arts) in 2010, and studied with Prof. Pascal Devoyon and Rikako Murata. He successfully earned his Diplom degree in 2015, and now studying at Hochschule für Musik und Theater München (University of Music and Performimg Arts Munich) with Prof. Adrian Oetiker.
